- Heart medication
- Blood pressure medication
- Anti-seizure medication
- Insulin
- Do NOT take water pills — in addition to anything you have previously stopped taking in preparation for surgery (this includes aspirin, Motrin, Coumadin and Warfarin).
What to bring
- Your driver’s license and all insurance cards.
- A check or credit card, if your insurance company requires a co-pay.
- If your child is having surgery, a favorite stuffed animal or security blanket for added comfort.
How to prepare
- Take a shower or bath the day of the procedure.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing big enough to accommodate a large bandage after surgery.
- Do not wear any jewelry, makeup or cologne, and do not bring any valuables with you.
When you arrive
- When you arrive you will change into a surgical gown, and your belongings will be placed in a secured locker.
- You will meet your surgeon before the procedure, as well as the anesthesia provider.
- You may not drive after surgery.
